Rescue doesn't end the moment a dog is saved

In many cases, that is when their journey truly begins.

Our Mexico and US families give rescued dogs something they may have never had before: time, patience, stability, and the opportunity to feel safe. Before a dog is ready for their forever home, they may need time to decompress, learn to trust, socialize, build confidence, and simply understand what it means to live in a loving home. Some of the ways that foster help are by:

• Building trust: A foster helps them learn that people can be safe and dependable.

• Understanding their personality: A foster can learn whether a dog is playful,

  independent, cuddly, shy, energetic, protective, or more comfortable with other animals or children.

• Rehabilitation: Dogs who have experienced neglect, fear, or difficult circumstances

  may need help with confidence, socialization, house manners, leash skills, or other

  behaviors.

• Preparing for real life: Foster care allows dogs to experience a home environment before adoption—sleeping indoors, following routines, interacting with people, and learning what is expected of them.

Fostering also allows us to truly get to know each dog. We learn their personality, their needs, their quirks, and what type of family will allow them to thrive. When rehabilitation is needed, we give them the time and support necessary to work through those challenges rather than rushing them into a home before they are ready.

At From Stray to Saty Rescue our goal isn't simply to find a dog a home. Our goal is to find the right home for that dog.
